About MISFITGEEK
Technology Never Stands Still — and neither Do We.
MISFITGEEK is a technology website committed to simplifying modern tech — providing clear guides, honest reviews, and smarter alternatives to AI tools, software, apps, games, and devices.
Our team researches, tests, and reviews tools so you don’t have to waste time figuring out what’s worth using. From optimizing your workflow to exploring AI-powered solutions, MISFITGEEK gives you the clarity and confidence to choose better tools — and actually get things done.
The History of MISFITGEEK
MISFITGEEK was never built for the mainstream — it was built for the curious. For those who question trends, test new ideas, and tinker until things break (and then fix them better).
The journey began in 2009, when Joe Stagner, widely known as The Original Opinionated MisfitGeek, launched the MISFITGEEK website to share raw, unfiltered insights from decades in the trenches of technology.
“I got my first job writing code for money in 1975 at the ripe old age of 15, and I’ve been in the Information Technology business ever since.” — Joe Stagner
Joe wasn’t just a voice in tech — he was the tech.
He wrote software on mainframes, mini computers, and micro systems. He coded in everything from Assembly to C# and Ruby, built products for startups and enterprises, ran teams of 400+, and spent a decade at Microsoft evangelizing developer security and architecture at scale.
For more than a decade, he used MISFITGEEK to speak directly to developers, creators, and independent thinkers — with the kind of no-BS advice only decades of experience can provide.
✨ A New Chapter, A New Focus
