I think probably every web developer on the planet knows about Firebug,

Laurent Chesnais has created a very cool Firefox extension for ASP.NET AJAX Developers.

It has features for ….

  • PageRequestManager events tracing
  • WebService calls tracing and inspection
  • Partial Update inspection within Firebug Net Panel
  • More to come!

    And… It’s FREE !

Firebug is very powerful, but I prefer fiddler, because I like IE. :)

Thanks for the link, Joe :)

      Now if I may:

Jack - Not to start an argument here, but I don't think Firebug and Fiddler are really alternatives to one another. They sort of specialize in different things. The best IE alternative to Firebug I've seen is the Developer Tools included with IE8.

Ahmed - Next time you have a small project, try developing for Firefox first. I think you will find that it is less work to make Firefox-friendly web apps (or pages, for that matter) work in IE than the other way around. And if you're having problems with Firefox, you will likely have problems with the other standards-compliant browsers.
